We finally have a shop! After 7 years of mobile detailing, we were finally able to lease a great space 1.8 miles from our house! There are so many amazing things that happened to even allow us to get this space, and we can already see the difference it is making in our business.
If you don’t know, the type business we have is high end car detailing (paint correction, ceramic coatings, etc). We wanted the office/waiting room area to reflect the feel of the business- commitment to quality, stunning, unique, & memorable. I think we achieved our goal.
Basic Warehouse Office
All of the offices in the complex have vinyl flooring & cream walls. Very sterile. Below is a picture of our oldest jumping with excitement the night we got the keys. You can get an idea of what the room looked like!
I created a 3-D rendering of the room to find a good layout. We ended up with the couch on the opposite wall, but it turned out fairly close (minus the reclaimed wood wall)!
Reclaimed Wood Wall
Last year, we took a trip up to Kentucky to buy reclaimed wood from some Amish men. We purchased an entire pallet of rough planks that were from an old barn. We’ve had the wood in our garage for the last year, using only a few pieces at a time. Finally, we were able to put it to good use on this amazing wall!
Evan & my brother-in-law planed down each board as they were very rough. This brought out so much of the character & beauty of the wood.
The Coffee Bar
We wanted a great bar area with good drinks & snacks. Again, this is an extension of who were are as a business (and as a couple). I searched SO many stores for the right table, and finally found this one at Home Goods at Perimeter in Atlanta.
What’s in a Name
Our business is called Buff Guys Detail & Restoration, hence the BG on the wall. Our friend, Jim, an amazing creative genius, designed our business cards & website (buffguysdetail.com). I wish you could feel the card- it’s like smooth rubber. One customer had more to say about the card than the huge paint correction Evan had just completed on his car!

I spent a lot of time rushing around stores, trying to find the perfect items while my kids were at school. I found most things at Home Goods, basically my favorite store ever.
This table, lamp, and succulent are all from Marshall’s.
Everything in this picture is from Home Goods. These gorgeous chairs even swivel!!
The couch is an awesome Craigslist find for $250! We met a great couple who even go to our church! The map is from Home Goods, metal letters from Hobby Lobby.
The table is from Hobby Lobby, fridge from Amazon, metal bucket from local antique store. Thanks, Laura, for the Keurig!!
One last thing- we laid this Luxury Vinyl Flooring ourselves & LOVE it! I found it on clearance at Floor & Decor. It is beautiful and was fairly easy to lay. Hard to keep clean, because of all the spring pollen & shop dust, but beautiful, nonetheless. The wall color is Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray, which we also have in our master bath. My sweet Dad came & painted all the trim- thanks Dad!
This took over an entire weekend to complete everything, but was definitely worth the labor! If you’re local to Alpharetta, GA, we hope you come grab a drink & check out the shop!
